INTRODUCTIONS

There are several ways of introducing people. If you want to introduce yourself, you can say:

A.    I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Andy.

(Saya akan memperkenalkan diri kepada kamu. Nama saya adalah Andy.)

B.     May I introduce myself to you?

(Bolehkah saya memperkenalkan diri kepada kamu?)

C.     It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you all.

(Ini adalah kesenangan saya untuk memperkenalkan diri kepada semua kalian.)

D.    Could I introduce myself to you?

(Dapatkah saya memperkenalkan diri kepada kamu?

E.     My name is..... (your name, for example: Sari, etc)

(Nama saya adalah..... (nama kamu,contohnya: Sari,dll)

F.      How do you do?

(Ini adalah ucapan yang diucapkan saat berkenalan,sebagai salam perkenalan.)

G.    Jonathan, let me introduce you to Siska.

(Jonathan, mari saya perkenalkan kamu kepada Siska.)

H.    James, this is Nancy.

(James, ini adalah Nancy.)

I.       I am very glad to meet you.

(Saya sangat senang dapat berkenalan dengan kamu.)

J.       It is nice to meet you.

(menyenangkan sekali bisa berkenalan dengan kamu)

K.    What’s your name?

(siapa namamu?)

L.     How do you spell your name?

(bagaimana cara mengeja namamu?)

Examples of conversation:

1.      A: Miss Susanti, may I introduce my friend to Miss Tya?

B: How do you do, Miss Susanti.

A: How do you do, Miss Tya.

2.       L: hello, my name is Cynthia. What is your name?

M: my name is Catherine. It is nice to meet you. I have heard that you are an exchange student from London.

L: yes, I am. I am very happy to be here and meet new friends. I hope we can be good friends. Maybe we can go somewhere together sometimes, what do you think?

M: Hey, that is such a good idea. You can tell me all about London. I have never been to London, but I have heard that it is such a lovely city. Is that true?

L: yes, it is. You can also tell me everything I need to know about this city.

M: of course.
